5 Spring Cleaning Health Tips

Spring has well and truly sprung and here at the KW HQ we are so excited for all that the warmer weather has to offer. To celebrate Spring, we have put together our Spring cleaning tips and tricks to get you out of your Winter hibernation and ready for all things sunshine.

  1. Spring clean your space

Decluttering your space during Spring can be very therapeutic. The warmer weather creates the perfect excuse to deep clean the house, declutter your wardrobe and have your home looking and feeling squeaky clean. If you feel overwhelmed with the decluttering process, we recommend following the advice from our dear friend Marie Condo – if it sparks joy, keep the item, if it doesn’t maybe it’s time to donate or give to a friend.

  1. Spring clean your mind

It is no secret that a lot of us struggle to shake the Winter blues and get ready for all things Spring and Summer. An effective way to work through these feelings is by dedicating time to write in a journal each morning or create a vision board with things you are looking forward to doing or goals you want to achieve in the next 6 months. These exercises will allow you to process your emotions and help to clear space in your mind for new and exciting things.

  1. Spring clean your body

Let’s face it; now that the weather is warmer, our bodies might be craving more movement. Whether it is a Pilates class, a 10-minute walk on your lunch break or visiting a nearby waterfall to go for a swim, Spring is the perfect opportunity to move more and sit less, so find what form of exercise works for your body and routine. 

  1. Spring clean your devices

Your phone is an extension of your mind and treating it like that will help you set healthy boundaries and ensure the content you’re viewing is aiding your mental and physically wellbeing. A few boundaries we like to set are:

  • Turning off devices at least 1 hour before bed to promote better and more restful sleep.
  • Having a phone detox during the weekends to remain fully present and enjoy the warmer weather.
  • Unfollow accounts that don’t make you happy!

 

  1. Spring Clean your diet

In Winter, we tend to eat more comforting foods as our body is craving warm meals during the cooler months. It is the complete opposite as the weather gets warmer. As your body is moving and sweating more you might be craving more fresh foods and LOTS of water so make sure to listen to your body and nourish it accordingly.
